Gareth Barry breaks Premier League appearance Record
Congratulations to Gareth Barry who has broken Ryan Giggs' Premier League appearance record.
Barry made his 633rd league appearance as he captained West Brom against Arsenal, surpassing the mark set by former Manchester United winger Giggs.
Barry, 36, made the first appearance of his record-breaking run for Aston Villa at Sheffield Wednesday in 1998. He spent 12 years at Villa, making 441 appearances.
The midfielder joined Manchester City in June 2009, where he won the FA Cup and the Premier League.
After a season on loan, he joined Everton on a three-year contract in July 2014 and signed for West Brom in 2017.
Now in his 21st season as a professional, Barry, who also has 53 England caps, admitted he hopes to beat the Giggs’ overall number of league appearances of 672.
Many congratulations to Gareth from all the The PFA.
